One is a CROWD – Mira Tuci

Literature as a European mother tongue: In our series “One is a CROWD”, we introduce you to authors from all over Europe who will be involved in the CROWD omnibus reading tour, taking place from May to July 2016, featuring 100 authors who will be travelling through 15 European countries. We asked them questions about text production, reception and mediation. In case you were wondering what a literary activist from Albania looks like, meet Mira Tuci!

Have you ever participated in collaborative author/reader projects? And if so, what do you find interesting about it?

Yes I had, in Literary Ark in Armenia and also in Albania at Poeteka. I find it very thrilling, when you touch the sensitivity of the readers, the way how they react to your words and authors conception of the world.

What is your favorite literary spot in …? (literary venue, bar, meeting area, city, etc.)

My favorite literary spots are two,  a bar and a street (in Albania we have two alternative places, one called Hemingway bar and Tulla Culture Center), venues for poets, authors and step-out-of-the-crowd people which I love the most, where you can share poetry but also socialize.

Which recent literary event fascinated you the most and why? (Please give us the link to the website of the event)

One of the literary event that I was affasinatted was the 115 Birthday of Ernest Hemingway a perfect match between poetry and jazz.

How do you feel about readers’ comments and feedback to your texts? Does it affect / alter your subsequent writing?

I am always curious about the readers comments or point of view, their perception when they listen or read my poems. It doesn’t alter my subsequent writing as far I am very instinctive when I write.

Anything else that is of interest / importance to you?

What is amazing and attracts my interest is the combination between music and poetry in open areas where you can meet and exchange ideas with people who love freedom of being and think outside the box.
