„In 2013 he published his book Lettere alla Reinserzione Culturale del Disoccupato (“Letters to the Cultural Reinsertion of the Unemployed”) in Italy. The book consists of 17 letters. The writer of these letters, who is unemployed, directs his words to an indistinctly outlined entity called “Cultural Reinsertion”, whose dubious task is the integration of the unemployed into cultural life.“

Was fasziniert uns an Texten? Wie bringen wir Literatur zum Leuchten? Wann springt der Funke über? Quo vadis, Welt aus Sprache?
Das Netzwerk der freien Literaturszenen Europas CROWD hat spannende, impulsgebende LiteraturaktivistInnen aus Großbritannien, Serbien, Italien, Lettland, Zypern, Finnland, Österreich, Tschechien und Island nach Berlin eingeladen, um sich an zwei Konferenztagen über ihre verschiedenen Ideen von Literatur zu verständigen.
Bei den Abendveranstaltungen werden dem Berliner Publikum Texte zeitgenössischer AutorInnen aus ganz Europa vorgestellt: Ästhetische Faszination und politisches Diskussionspotential machen ein vielgestaltiges Bild europäischer Gegenwartsliteratur greifbar. Texte, die hier und heute in der Echtzeit des Jetzt pulsieren. Texte, die uns zeigen, warum es sich lohnt, Literatur als Gesprächsangebot immer wieder neu zu formulieren.
Es lesen und diskutieren: Lily Michaelides (Zypern), Max Höfler (Österreich), Laura Serkosalo (Finnland), Ana Pejović (Serbien), Ondřej Buddeus (Tschechien), Andrea Inglese (Italien/Frankreich), Valgerdur Thoroddsdottir (Island), Inga Bodnarjuka (Lettland) und Steven Fowler (Großbritannien).
Lesung und Diskussion finden auf Englisch statt.
Oeuvre? What is an oeuvre?
Is one single book already an oeuvre? Or shall we name it an oeuvre only if we refer to an conglomeration of books of the same author? If I sing a song, do I achieve an oeuvre? Or do I at least have to compose it by myself? If the author’s book is the author’s oeuvre, what is the readers oeuvre? Does an oeuvre have to be linear? Is the Bible an oeuvre? The Bible isn’t linear. And it’s not written by the same author.
And what in the hell is the literary activist’s oeuvre consisting of???
Let’s think about the oeuvre of a publisher. For the german speakers among you, we are happy to present Daniela Seel, speaker of the conference and founder of kookbooks, one of the most important poetry publisher in Germany. Daniela Seel: „This is why I do not publish prose anymore. It’s all about marketing. It destroys literature.“

Daniela Seel: Die Idee vom richtigen Deutsch ist eine falsche Idee
„Ich glaube, es ist das allergrößte Klischee zu behaupten es gäbe DIE deutsche Sprache. Die Grammatik ist eine totale Abstraktion. Es wäre irreführend zu sagen es gäbe richtiges oder falsches Deutsch. Sprache ist etwas Individuelles innerhalb des eigenen Körpers und existiert nur, wenn sie in einen anderen Körper hineingeht. Sprache ist ein Austausch zwischen Autor, Text und Leser. Die Idee vom richtigen Deutsch ist eine falsche Idee. Die Sprache, die ich habe, ist die Summe all meiner Erfahrungen. Und die unterscheiden sich von den Erfahrungen jedes anderen. Sprache ist demnach nichts Abstraktes. Es gibt keine überindividuelle Grammatik. Gerade vor dem interkulturellen Hintergrund ist es wichtig, das zu realisieren.“
